What is PLA?

The material used to print this collection is commonly called PLA. Polylactic Acid, is a biodegradable thermoplastic made from renewable resources (such as cornstarch or sugarcane). It is an environmentally friendly material and helps to support sustainability in the 3D printing industry. PLA's smooth finish and vibrant colours make it ideal for decorative objects and a focus on detailed appearance. 3D printing works by building up the printer
filament, one fine layer at a time, from the base plate, up. 3D printing enables highly detailed and accurate features in a printed item.
3D printed items are very lightweight and surprisingly durable and tough – however, care and consideration needs to be taken with any item that has joints/articulations or small fine features, as these can be more delicate and prone to breaking under rough handling or being dropped.
